The Woodward Mountain Park is a network of featured terrain zones that, together, offer a balanced variety of exciting on-mountain experiences for all ages and abilities. Today is the opening of North Americas first indoor year-round snow park with real snow. Big Snow America is located in Rutherford, NJ and the indoor park features a chairlift, a terrain park, and multiple runs for all levels of riding. The facility that houses Big SNOW America, dubbed American Dream, is centrally located in the Tri-State area and is only a 4.5-mile drive from Manhattan. With only a short commute form NYC, this indoor park is sure to be a hit on the east coast. Its quite massive at 16 stories tall with a 800-foot slope and the 180,000-square-foot facility will also be home to everything else you’ll find at your typical resort, like a chalet, various shops, restaurants, and an après lounge.
Big SNOW America will operate with all of the same snowmaking equipment you’ll find at your local resort, but since inside, the facility will be able to recycle melted snow. This allows the water to be reused multiple times during the snowmaking process. Having full control of the “weather,” Big SNOW America will also have a consistent and comfortable air temperature, which will keep the humidity level inside perfect for fresh, soft snow.
